Our espagnolette bolts (pronounced eh-span-yuh-let) are designed for securing French windows and double doors.
Surface Espagnolette Bolts are normally mounted vertically onto the frame of a French door or window, or large casement window. As they are face-fixed, they are a decorative alternative to flush or concealed bolts.
French door espagnolette bolts are available in Locking and Unlocking versions, in an array of finishes to suit many different doors and windows. They are suited to inward and outward opening applications.
Our espagnolette bolts have a variety of designs, with oval, round or Art deco knobs, with curved bar handles or modern lever handles to create a variety of styles while also providing a comfortable grip.
The handle or knob on the espagnolette knob is connected to a metal rod mounted to the surface of the frame, at about three or four feet above the floor. The knob connects to the gearbox, which operates the rods. Operating the handle rotates the rod, which locates into sockets at the top and bottom of the door opening. They can be paired with an external knob if use from both sides of the door is required.
We have traditional finishes available such as bronze, pewter, antique brass and black antique that is suited to Cottages, Listed Buildings and Period Properties. With more modern finishes such as polished brass, chrome and nickel, in modern and even Art Deco designs. Our espagnolette bolts are suited to a wide range of homes and applications.
