Black Sinks
Trendy black kitchen details like black sinks are in high demand! Black is so timeless that it is becoming more and more commonplace to move away from traditional silver-toned steel or porcelain sinks towards smart black, gold or copper. Anthracite, Twilight and Carbon are all a version of black that make up our collection of sinks by Alveus.
Stainless Steel Sinks
If the classic look is more for you, then see our collection of stainless steel sinks in various styles. See Stainless steel sinks with curved edges and more square corners.
Sink Mount
There are different types of sink mounts and some sinks can be mounted in many different ways, Flush Mount, Flat Mount, Undermount and Inset or Set on.
- Flush mount (F) sinks need to be used with a waterproof worktop, the thickness of the upper edges of the sink cut into the surface of it- recessed in, so that the sink can sit flush. This method requires some carpentry/kitchen fitting skill.
- Flat mount (S) is where the edge of the sink sits on the counter, rather than recessed in like Flush Mount, which means it sits flat onto the worktop but isn't flush due to the sink surface. This method makes for easy installation.
- Undermount (U) is the type where you see the edges of the worktop rather than the edges of the sink, it being fixed to the underneath of the worktop.
- Inset sinks: are installed as the upper finishing element of one or more kitchen cabinets. The height of the edge of the sink is 30 mm. The sinks have a wall edge of 30 mm high or come without it.
Sink Styles
There are two main styles of sink available at More Handles, metal-based sinks and composite 'Granital' sinks.
Alveus Monarch Sinks are created from a base of stainless steel, surface treated with a thin vapourised metal substance known as ceramic nitride, this gives the sink increased scratch resistance as well as a unique metal lustre. The collection has Anthracite, Bronze, Copper and Gold finish options, each sink ends up with a unique colour shade.
Alveus Stainless Steel Sinks are manufactured with AISI 304 stainless steel, this Premium Stainless Steel collection provides strength and durability, with resistance to high temperatures, rapid temperature changes, impacts and chemical influences. Stainless Steel sinks are also very easy to clean, ensuring a high level of hygiene is maintained, and are 100% recyclable.
The Composite ‘Granital Collection’ of Sinks by Alveus is made of high-quality composite material Granital. Granital composite material is a mixture of 70-80% granite particles bound together by a high-quality binder, which provides strength and flexibility to a kitchen sink as well as resistance to temperature shocks.
