Choosing the right blank escutcheon cover
A blank escutcheon cover is used where a keyhole or cylinder opening is not needed, or where an old lock position needs to be covered. It gives doors and furniture a more finished appearance and helps tidy up visible holes after changing locks, handles or door hardware.
Blank escutcheons are useful for internal doors, cupboard doors, cabinet doors, wardrobes, period doors, painted doors and restoration projects. They can also be used when converting a locking door to a non locking door, or when matching the look of escutcheons on nearby doors without adding a working keyhole.
Before ordering, check the size of the hole or mark you need to cover, the shape of the escutcheon, the screw fixing position and the finish of your existing ironmongery. A round or square blank escutcheon can give a neat decorative cover, while the right finish helps it blend with your door handles, door knobs, door hinges, door stops and other decorative ironmongery.
For a coordinated door set, compare standard profile escutcheons, euro cylinder escutcheons, oval cylinder escutcheons, turn and release fittings and locks and latches. If you are updating a full room, you may also want to browse other ironmongery, door catches and door stops.
