The From The Anvil Slim Style Suffolk Thumblatch is traditionally used on a ledge and braced door. When this lever is pressed down, it operates a thumb bar. The thumb bar passes through the door, lifting the latch bar on the opposite side and allowing the door to open. This thumblatch has been hand hammered into shape in mild steel by From The Anvil's Blacksmiths. Thumblatches are typically used in conjunction with a T hinge on traditional plank doors, suitable for a maximum door thickness of 45mm.

Beeswax - After forging, these products are dipped into hot beeswax which allows them to retain their original colours ranging from blue to deep ochre. All our Beeswax ironmongery offers a subtle matt richness and is a more natural, and far softer, alternative to a black powder-coated finish.
The Welsh-based brand From the Anvil designs and manufactures high-quality, hand-made and functional ironmongery that enhances and revives traditional buildings and brings an authentic and rustic charm to newer builds.
