Classic Brasso wadding for cleaning Unlacquered Solid Brass products. 
This tin of Brasso-infused wadding is suitable for polishing all our unlaquered & aged brass finishes. 
The tin comes with the Brasso wadding tightly packed into the tin - Simply pull out the amount you need and polish away. 
Our unlacquered products are always cast from genuine high quality Solid Brass, and will therefore naturally age through oxidization; this gives that classic 'rose gold' brass colour which has seen a resurgence after several decades of fashions requiring bright, lacquered (or varnished) brass finishes, which can sometimes appear garish in traditional or period decor schemes.
Unlacquered Polished Brass items will need to be maintained with Brasso at regular intervals if you want to keep the original brassy shine. 
Alternatively, the brass can be left to age through oxidization and will gain its’ own unique darkened patina over the years. 
Aged Brass finishes have been treated to speed up this natural oxidization and ageing process, which produces the beautiful aged effect; burnished, making it smooth in appearance and is used as an alternative finish when an antique effect is preferable. 
To maintain this ageing process, no care needs to be taken other than the occasional oiling of working parts. 
However, it can be beneficial to occasionally use Brass polish to the raised detailing on some products; this can be achieved by using Brasso wadding and following the manufacturer’s directions.
