The Cardea Cavendish Reeded Polished Nickel Casement Fastener has a smoothy rounded handle with a traditional and popular reeded design down the handle that offers easy and comfortable grip while opening and closing windows. The Casement Fastener has a hook and a mortice plate for fixing. The Mortice Plate is the most common type of plate, used on standard casement windows where the fastener 'tongue' can latch into the frame.
The Hook Plate is for use on 'flush' casement windows, where it is not possible to use the frame for the fastener to hold the window closed.

The Cardea Polished Nickel finish is a solid brass plating and will generally require little maintenance as nickel is a relatively slow ageing metal.
To maintain the finish we recommend wiping the item with a micro-fibre cloth to remove dirt deposits and polishing with a good quality metal polish. The application of a light wax after cleaning can be beneficial but is not essential. We do NOT recommend the use of liquid polishes that will leave a residue.
