Large Rose Door Handles

Have you removed your old door handles or door knobs, only to find a huge gaping bore-hole through the door? You have what is called a 'Weiser' door knob set. 

It can be very hard to find replacement sets for these old, invasive latch and knob mechanisms. Do not worry! More Handles now carries a full range of replacement door knobs and lever handles to counter this problem. 

Weiser door knobs were fitted to UK doors in great numbers throughout the 1970's and 1980's. Weiser is an American door furniture manufacturer, who patented their own unique latch system, which required a very large, 54mm bore hole to be drilled right through the door, to accommodate their latch. This was presumably meant to protect their brand and provide repeat business, as at the time they were the only company who made door knob sets with a latch of this style, requiring such a large bore hole. The idea was that once a customer purchased a door knob set, they would have repeat business each time the door handles were changed.

Fast forward 30 years... Weiser are no longer one of the largest UK door furniture suppliers, and have largely wound down their operations in the UK. This means that it is very difficult to find replacement knobs for old weiser sets, without reconstructing and filling your doors. We have many customers per week call us up to enquire about what they can do to replace their old Weiser door knob sets. 

To address the problem, at More Handles we have brought two distinct lines of door furniture into stock, so that our customers can replace old Weiser sets easily, without the need for laborious filling and reconstructing their doors. 

Large Door Knobs 

The ERA and BALA door knob sets are very similar to their Weiser counterparts. These door knob sets are made to Weiser specifications, so can be directly and easily swapped in most cases. These ranges feature upgraded components and finishing process, and are available in three distinct finishes. Easy to install, each door knob set is supplied with fitting instructions and templates. The integral Tubular Latches supplied are adjustable to either 60mm or 70mm, which are standard Weiser sizes. The ERA door knobs are an excellent choice for customers replacing just one or two original Weiser sets without having to change all their door knobs. The BALA door knob sets are a more contemporary take on the Weiser sets. Spherical in shape, and available in clean, modern finishes to match contemporary interiors. 

Large Door Handles Sets

Still, door knobs sometimes are not the solution to many people's interior design requirements. Realizing this, we sourced the excellent and innovative Renova Range of lever door handles. The renova door handles are totally unique, in that they fit directly into old Weiser spec bore holes, with a 54mm rose. So slightly smaller than normal lever on rose handles, that no one will ever know that they cover huge weiser bore holes. The Renova door handles provide a modern, contemporary look. The range utilizes a unique fixing plate that allows it to be used in the larger diameter pre-bore holes that are required for the Weiser style door knobs. The range of door handles in striking polished chrome and stainless steel finishes allow you to choose a completely fresh look for your doors, without the cost of replacing doors, or hours of time spent repairing the original holes. 

Fitting the Renova Door Handles is simple. Each set is supplied with a full fitting guide.  Once all previous fixings have been removed the new latch can be installed and then the fixing plates can be secured to the door.  A separate rose spindle set is then screwed onto the fixing plate and a cover screws on top to hide all the fixings. Then the separate lever handle is secured onto the spindle usiung a simple grub screw fix. The Renova range of door handles truly provides a simple and easy solution to breathe new life into old doors.

More Handles offers a range of 7 different designs of handles in Polished Chrome, Satin Chrome and some unique twin finish designs. The handles are supplied as a complete set providing all the parts required to fit the handles to the door including a new latch mechanism in a matching finish.
