How To Fit A Spring Unit Cassette
Below we have provided step by step instructions on how to fit a spring unit cassette. You will want to fit a Spring Unit Cassette to increase the tension and performance of an old or weak lock. If you fit our spring unit cassettes they will convert unsprung handles to spring action.

-
- Ensure the handle backplate width is greater than the cassette.
- Remove one handle if fitted leaving the spindle in lock.
- Slide spring over spindle until touching the door. mark around the spring unit and make sure flat edges are as pictured.
- Cut into the face of the door within the marked area and remove waste timber to allow spring unit to be flush or just below the surface of the door.
- Slide spring unit over the spindle. Fix with 2 or 4 screws then replace the handle.
- This should assist in lifting the handle. If the locks fitted do not have heavy-duty springs. If more lift is required fix another unit on the other side of the door.
