How To Fit A Spring Unit Cassette

Below we have provided step by step instructions on how to fit a spring unit cassette. You will want to fit a Spring Unit Cassette to increase the tension and performance of an old or weak lock. If you fit our spring unit cassettes they will convert unsprung handles to spring action.

How To Fit A Spring Unit Cassette | More Handles

    1. Ensure the handle backplate width is greater than the cassette.
    2. Remove one handle if fitted leaving the spindle in lock.
    3. Slide spring over spindle until touching the door. mark around the spring unit and make sure flat edges are as pictured.
    4. Cut into the face of the door within the marked area and remove waste timber to allow spring unit to be flush or just below the surface of the door.
    5. Slide spring unit over the spindle. Fix with 2 or 4 screws then replace the handle.
    6. This should assist in lifting the handle. If the locks fitted do not have heavy-duty springs. If more lift is required fix another unit on the other side of the door.
