From The Anvil Doctor Door Knocker

The From The Anvil Doctor Door Knocker is cast from high-quality genuine solid brass and polished to produce a traditional Doctors' style door knocker. It is attached to a small fixing plate which is ideal for doors with a narrow centre style. This solid brass doctor's knocker takes its inspiration from an early Georgian design; the knocker was said to have been used to identify the front door of a Doctor's house, hence the name.

Aged Brass - This finish is intentionally tarnished using an accelerated ageing process that causes a dark patina to gather around the edges and recesses of the design. This rich colour offers a beautiful contrast against the repolished surface areas.
Aged Bronze - These products are manufactured from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. Due to the process used to age the metal, this finish is very dark and has a rich, matt appearance. During the final stages of manufacturing, we apply a durable, matt lacquer to this finish which helps preserve its distinctive tones.
Black - This is a popular choice in traditional settings. Its subtle sheen offers a bold contrast on stained and painted timber alike. During the manufacturing process, From The Anvil’s Black products are baked in a high-temperature oven, giving them durable, corrosion-resistant qualities.
External Beeswax - This is manufactured using From The Anvil’s unique anti-corrosive beeswax. Much like their standard Beeswax, it offers a matt richness with a depth of colour, ranging from blue to deep ochre red.
Pewter Patina - They are forged from a durable base of steel and boast a rich, luxurious appearance. From The Anvil’s manufacturing techniques create contrasting textures on the surface of the metal to create a rich appearance with an abundance of charm. 
Polished Chrome - These products are made from a base of solid brass coated with a durable chrome plating to give an exceedingly high-sheen finish. Favoured for its bright, bold appearance, Polished Chrome is well suited to contemporary designs and offers a smooth, mirror finish when polished.
Polished Nickel - These products are manufactured from a solid brass base with high-quality plating. This finish is bright, reflective, and extremely versatile. When polished, it offers an impressive depth of reflection.  
Satin Brass - These products are made from solid brass.  During the final stages of manufacturing, our Satin Brass products are brushed with a satin wheel to give them their distinctive appearance.  A high-quality matt lacquer is then applied to their surface for protection.
Satin Chrome - These are crafted from a base of solid brass, with high-quality chrome plating applied to its surface. It offers an understated alternative to Polished Chrome and is loved for its less reflective appearance and distinctive blue traces.
Unlacquered Brass - They are made from solid, unlacquered brass and have soft, golden hues that offer a depth of reflection. If left untouched, this finish will oxidise over time and naturally age to create a historically beautiful look. To restore these products to their former glory, simply polish them using a dry cloth and some Brasso
