Strap Hinges are also known as Tee-Hinges and hook hinges, they come in multiple styles as they can be used in a variety of applications, larger strap and tee hinges could be used as gate hinges, and for use on doors. As a general rule, a strap or tee hinge should reach two thirds across the door. The various designs available are in penny-end and arrow-head designs, through to fleur-de-lys and more decorative variations in pewter, bronze, beeswax and antique black finishes.
