This Solid Beehive Mortice/Rim Door Knob is part of From the Anvil's range of Solid Brass/Bronze door furniture.
The Beehive Door Knob is unsprung and has loose roses, so as to enable it to be used with a rim lock (discard one rose) or use complete with a mortice lock.
This product is created using genuine turned solid brass/bronze (please see finishes detail below.)
The Solid Beehive Door Knob differs from the very similar Standard Beehive Door Knob in that it is solid all the way through, rather than hollow; this makes for a fantastically heavy feel.
An 8mm threaded spindle is supplied to take adjustment for various door thickness and lock firmly with a grub screw. The grub screw should locate on the 'V' in the shaft and not on the threaded part.
For best results the centre of the knob should be an absolute minimum of 76mm (3'') from the edge of the door. We recommend our double sprung latches for use with this knob, at 4'' or 5'' or 6".
Part of our From the Anvil range; who have specialized in recreating original designs by hand and have acquired a reputation for excellence. Designed to finish off your door suite and match perfectly with other ironmongery.
Suitable for use with either a Mortice Latch or Rim Latch.
Aged Brass - The un-lacquered brass achieves a timeless elegance, highly polished on all surface areas but aged to highlight the detail and design. This will tarnish in time as part of the ageing process but can be polished time and time again if a natural sheen is desired.
Polished Nickel - A highly polished finish with a nickel plating applied to solid brass which is salt tested to 480 hours. Similar to a polished chrome finish but with much warmer tones.
Polished Chrome - A highly polished finish which reflects like a mirror. A base metal of solid brass with quality chrome plating applied to its surface which is salt tested to 480 hours.
Aged Bronze - This finish is manufactured from solid un-lacquered bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper; with a rich, matt hue, due to the finishing process used to age the metal, this process initially darkens the material, however the finish will gradually oxidize over time revealing the warmer copper undertones. This finish has been salt tested to 480 hours.
Polished Bronze - (For both Internal and external use) - Manufactured from solid un-lacquered bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. This finish undergoes an accelerated ageing process and is then re-polished, leaving any decorative details dark and larger surface areas more polished. This finish has been salt tested to 480 hours, which meets grade 5 British Standard.
