The From the Anvil Pewter Patina Octagonal Door Knob is suitable for both rim and mortice latches. They are available in large or small sizes and are supplied with a threaded spindle to allow for tight adjustment with an additional grub screw fix. When used with a Rim Lock simply discard one of the separate roses that are supplied.
These pewter door knobs are solid cast and are unsprung, and we therefore recommend a heavy sprung latch or lock.
Ideally suited to cottages, listed buildings and period properties, as part of our From The Anvil range these are faithfully reproduced to original designs by hand in the traditional fashion of English Blacksmiths.
Available in the following finishes -
Pewter Patina - A beautiful applied pewter finish giving excellent anti-corrosion properties- suitable for external use.
We also have the octagonal door knob available in powdercoat and beeswax finishes -
Powder coat finish - A durable corrosion resistant finish providing a tougher coating- suitable for external use.
Beeswax Finish - A special Wax finish that imparts a subtle matt richness to the metal - INTERNAL USE ONLY.
External Beeswax finish - Manufactured from an anti-corrosive beeswax which is salt tested to 480 hours. It has a matt richness and similarly to our standard beeswax the depth of colour ranges from blue to deep red ochre.
