Guild Of Architectural Ironmongers – Exam Success for More Handles

More Handles are pleased to announce that they entered 3 students into the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) annual examinations this year.  The GAI is the leading industry body and the only recognised programme in the world that leads to a qualification in architectural ironmongery to British and European standards.  The examination standards are high to maintain and reflect the latest industry legislation and best practices and to keep pace with the current regulations and product offerings.

We are very pleased to report that;

Jack Wright - Sales Team Manager, was successful in passing the 1st Stage of the Certificate in Architectural Hardware.

Jamie Robinson – Trade Sales Advisor, was successful in passing the 1st Stage of the Certificate in Architectural Hardware.

Michael Hunt - Commercial Manager, was successful in passing the 1st and 2nd Stages of the Certificate in Architectural Hardware.

Michael was also invited to the GAI Annual Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London where he was awarded a prize for being placed third in the world this year with a distinction award in the fast-track Certificate in Architectural Hardware.

Michael said; “I was very pleased to receive the award as it represents the commitment and effort that the whole team applies at More Handles in making sure that we provide the best knowledge, service and experience to our customers and clients.  It is very rewarding when this is acknowledged by our industry peers at such a high-profile event as well”.

The Awards lunch was a prestigious affair with over 400 in attendance for an event that this year marked the 40th year anniversary of the GAI Education Awards.  The lunch was followed by the awards ceremony and then this year’s guest speaker was Ben Collins a.k.a. Top Gear’s The Stig.  Ben entertained the audience with a presentation, stories and a Q&A about his time on the famous TV programme, his racing career, and his role as a Hollywood stunt driver.

The Awards Ceremony is the culmination of the education year, with the architectural ironmongery industry gathering to celebrate the success of their peers and colleagues, and to network together across the industry as suppliers, retailers, specifiers and customers.  This year Michael attended along with Paul Rheinbach – Managing Director and Reece Rheinbach Business Development Manager as guests of Carlisle Brass.

Paul said; “More Handles has an ongoing commitment to training and developing our team members across the GAI qualifications.  We have an enthusiastic team who are keen to progress their careers and build their industry knowledge and experience, and it is good to see this across the management team through to our younger ‘next generation’ ironmongers. The Awards event is always good to attend, and I am pleased to see More Handles recognised this year as being among the best in the architectural ironmongery industry.”
