A faithful copy of an original Victorian toilet roll holder. Originally manufactured in 1884 by the Sanitary Paper Company of Bury Street, London, this paper holder was featured in the 5th July 1884 'Ironmonger' periodical. This item was declared to be the first of its kind to use non-perforated paper. A copy of the original article is included with the holder for your interest.
Supplied on a seasoned oak backplate, this Solid Brass product is hand-finished and aged using a natural oxidizing process. This means that each item is unique in its texture and appearance - The solid natural brass in unlacquered and will continue to acquire it's own unique patina over the years.
