The Cottingham 1883 boot scraper 70.151.AI.280 is cast from antique iron. It is manufactured with 'Sheffield Steelworks 1930' embossed in the centre of its main platform, with a secondary, smaller platform below embossing '1883' which is hand forged. It is set upon rounded ends rather than spikes, giving it an archaic feel. This boot scraper is the perfect solution to cleaning off muddy boots or shoes prior to entering the home as well as creating an archaic and striking feature in your yard or garden.
This boot scraper is hand finished and designed by Cottingham Collection with the intent of graceful ageing. Made from solid steel, it will serve as a loyal and hard-wearing boot scraper, and will make an elegant feature in your yard or garden.
The Cottingham Collection range was born out of a desire to create authentic hardware and household goods. The complete Cottingham Collection range is hand-finished using traditional methods, and is created with the aim of adding beauty to your home with products that age gracefully over time.
PLEASE NOTE: This product is of a rustic nature and is designed to both look and feel as if it has been in use for many years. You may wish to order a refundable sample before purchasing in larger quantities to make sure it suits the application. This product is created using genuine cast iron. The finish is left unlacquered for authenticity. Light surface rust may be present or develop when used in damp environments. If desired, this can be easily removed by using light oil (such as WD 40) and a fine grade wire wool. Ordinarily, when regularly used, this product develops its own patina, but should you wish to afford additional protection, we recommend Maintenance Wax be applied, which will give the iron a protective seal against any moisture.
