Art Deco Door Handles at More Handles

The More Handles Art Deco Door Handles Collection is a beautiful high quality range of door handles, door knobs, and door fittings where the designs are all in homage to the Art-Deco style that was popular in the 1920-1940 era.

Art-Deco was seen as a modern style that represented luxury, glamour and sophistication. The name was derived from the French ‘Arts Décoratifs’ in reference to an international design festival that was held in Paris in 1925.

The style of Art-Deco involved angular, geometric and symmetrical patterns, making particular use of the fashionable new chrome finish, neon lighting, mirrors and generally polished finishes. Strong streamlined shapes reflected the new era of aviation, sky-scrapers, cruise liners and embraced the new technology of the time.

The More Handles Art Deco Handles Collection uses the influence of the Art-Deco design movement to create a range of door handles with lots of chrome finishes, stepped profiles, angular shapes with chevrons and zigzag designs to exude the elegant style and cool sophistication that Art-Deco should represent.

The Carlisle Brass Art Deco Lever on Backplate ADR01 has the typically strong symmetrical lines of art deco design combined with a lined and curved lever handle.

Supplied in polished chrome, satin nickel and matt black finishes, the Carlisle Brass Art Deco Handles have latch, lock and bathroom variations in the backplates.

This art deco door handle can be matched with cupboard door handles ADR502 and also a matching cupboard door knob ADR501 in the same finishes. Giving your home a complete and cohesive art deco look.

This era of design really did have a unique and authentic style all of its own that seemed to fit perfectly with the time; Think of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building opening in this era, Jazz was born, the Charleston and Tango dance crazes reflected the new energy and unpredictable social scene that now existed following the end of the Great War.  This new energy was epitomized in the golden era of Hollywood.  It was a time of glamour, luxury and sophistication on a level never seen before and people wanted to embrace it, and for the first time mass production meant that was possible to the many and not just the few.

You can add that glamourous Art Deco style to your next project with a range of door handles and hardware that reflect the Art Deco ethos and design.
